This is pretty much unbelievable and I'm curious what their net gain will be, but:
4 of the best examples of well received indie games, plus another one that I've never actually heard of, all sold via a pay-what-you-want model: no middle man, and you can split your payment between the developers and charities.

I've played 4 of them - Gish is a masterpiece, World of Goo and Aquaria weren't really up my alley but almost everyone else I know loved them, and what I played of Lugaru was a blast.

If you are:
 - really bored
 - out of video games to play
 - someone interested in indie games
 - someone who likes really good deals

Then seriously pay like 10 bucks for a ridiculous amount of fun

Isn't that a "Make your price" deal? I don't get why anyone would pay 10$ for that unless that's the minimum

My roommate showed me Minecraft.  It's like 10 Euros (forget what it works out to in USD) and while only an alpha, it's actually a lot of fun despite being broken still in some areas.  It's easy to waste hours playing. :x

Well, personally, I think indie developers are awesome and I specifically look for chances to justify throwing money at them, but of course you could easily just pay a penny. I put $10 in the OP just because if any of you replied saying you'd paid $10, I'd get a warm fuzzy feeling inside. :3
As of this post, the top price paid is $500 dollars.

I played a bit of Minecraft when it was still in free alpha. It's a lot of fun but I could never play it for extended periods of time, I was always so intimidated by some of the shit people put together. Is there not a stable release yet..?

How do you possibly spend anything less than $5 on a you-choose-the-price model? Wouldn't you drown in guilt?

Perhaps I'm just too emotional. :x

This. If I'm willing to get it for free, I'll just pirate it. Indie developers are actually worth giving money to, for that matter.

Less than an hour before the deal ends, they break one million USD raised.

ONE MILLION WHAT THE HELL <3

edit:
And now they're making 4 of the games open source and extending the sale, g'damn.

Mac users... not that they deserve to.

To be fair, I've played it but I didn't own a copy myself until today.

I definitely will. I've wanted to play it.
You think it'd be okay control wise to do on my laptop? I don't think my desktop has enough space/video requirements to run it.

Get a USB mouse for your laptop anyway. Then play it.

Even if your specs aren't good, get it regardless. Then you'll still have gotten it for free for whenever you get a better computer.
