Frostii, why won't you let me hate you? Drrr!! 13 was fantastic and there's another episode waiting for me aaa ;_;

Rosti, do you have any estimate on how fast it'll take to get each backlogged episode done? How high is the show on the priority list of the people who are actually getting things done?

Been away all weekend so no idea how long it'll take, but we've got a fucking awesome fast guy doing the typesetting right now (same guy who does K-On!!, and those episodes are usually pretty rapid). I'd like to think that we'd be getting through backlogs reasonably quickly.

It'll get hit when the translator goes on holiday for a bit though. I'll maybe try and convince him to do a load of episodes in advance so we can work through while he's away.

And yeah, Drrr is good, though the creepy music near the end of the episode weirded me out a bit at the time.

So FMA's basically done, just the resolution episode to come. What a show. It doesn't do anything new, it's definitely built around cliches, but shows of that caliber don't come around very often. Really, really, really good. Better than the first series definitely, and it deserves to continue being the oft-recommended anime classic that it's become.

unless the last episode fucks everything up somehow LOL

I dunno why, but I seem to enjoy Durarara!! less than Baccano!... maybe it's cause all the doo doo dumb fangirls are swarming all over it while Baccano! is/was relatively under the radar, so its fans were COOL BEANS or maybe because i have a large bias since i'm using baccano as a point of reference even though they're like two different shows yeah

So tonight I was intending on watching one episode of Rurouni Kenshin and then going to bed, and instead it got good and I ended up watching three. Seems like after 26 episodes they finally stop fucking around with tiny arcs and go for a bit more of an important and continuous storyline, which is what it's been lacking really.

I've not watched much anime lately, which is partially because I've just been busy with my work experience, but mostly because the only two series I'm watching that aren't linked with Frostii (and therefore limited to a slow pace) are Mushishi and Rurouni Kenshin, which are both pretty good series so far, but they've been really episodic and when I finish watching an episode there's never anything to really push me into watching the next one (unlike, say, Hajime no Ippo, NANA or any of the other series I blazed through).

When I first heard of Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt a few months back I lol'd at the name and assumed it was going to be terrible, but I just saw the trailer and it looks like it could actually be pretty good.

Reminds me of the sort of stuff I'd watch as a kid on Cartoon Network (Dexter's Lab, etc). Feels weird to have a sense of nostalgia for a show that hasn't even aired yet.

EC finally finished Durarara!!, so I finally finished watching it. I watched it again from the start over the past few days.
The first half is still one of the best pieces of anime I've seen. The second half, less so. The ending really is quite mediocre. Still, the last few episodes made me feel genuinely uncomfortable and uneasy about how it was going to resolve, which is really rare for me.

I watched some of it on youtube before it was taken down; it is definitely like CN in the sense that each episode is split in half, but oh man it was fucking hilarious.  If not shameless :x

It's totally shameless immature humour crap, and everyone I know who is properly critique when it comes to anime hates it, but I think it's massively entertaining, albeit a little bit derivative.

Pretty much where I am with it.  One episode I saw actually had little sexual reference and it was pretty good until it came to the monster and she has six nipples <_<

@Rosti: after watching most of a season of Japanese baseball I had a big craving for One Outs again, which I'm watching now.
I've seen ads and such for Ookiku Furikabutte, but never considered it until now (it seemed childish). I might take it up, if you recommend it.

On an unrelated note I watched the Rurouni Kenshin OVAs again recently, had an explosion of nostalgia, and went out and bought the first volume of the manga.

I got through the Rurouni Kenshin prequel OVA series, and I'm currently halfway through the sequel one. The first is pretty damn good, as expected what with it being rated so highly.

Ookiku Furikabutte is excellent, especially if you actually like baseball. You see everything pretty much play-by-play (each match takes up like six or seven episodes), and the character development and humour in it is really nice. I could see where the childish impression might come from, especially with the animation of the character reactions (mostly the protagonist), but it's not really. I've finished both seasons and they're both fantastic. I maybe wouldn't say it's my outright favourite sports series, because I did absolutely love Ippo, but it's easily up there.

I'd also really recommend Cross Game as very strong baseball-related series too, though I'm not far enough through it to give it a sound personal recommendation. It's rated pretty highly though.

Thanks, I'll definitely look into those.

And god, isn't Ippo amazing? I haven't finished it, but it quickly moved up to one of my favourite series.

I've still to watch the second series of Ippo... I'm not actually sure why really. I'll probably watch it once I've started and finished Monster.
