Yeah, I'm still waiting on a.f.k. as well. Thanks for reminding me to watch FMA, I forgot there was a new ep.

I'm not watching any finished series at the moment, I watched a few during summer but now I don't really have time to watch any more, so it's just the weekly ep of FMA and the sometimes weekly ep of Haruhi. Where does Endless Eight fall compared to the first season, are there still episodes of S1 that haven't been rebroadcasted?

I'm trying to remember everything I watched this summer. I think it was Samurai Champloo (one of the best I've seen so far), Haruhi S1 (maybe THE best I've seen so far), Kaiji (didn't like it as much as I thought I would), Kanon (really enjoyed it), and Cowboy Bebop (good shit right there).

Oh and TTGL was right before summer started, I think. Also good shit.

To not spoil stuff, I'm really liking how they're starting to explain things on the new series of FMA. For example, the explanation in the new episode of what Homunculus actually are, rather than the old series where their invincibility and stuff wasn't really explained at all. It's not a complicated explanation, and obviously it doesn't make any sense in the real world, but it works fine within the context of the series.

The weird "FullMetal Alchemist" voiceovers around the ad breaks are really fucking annoying though. I'd be very happy if they did away with them.

Those may be my favourite parts of the show, they're the best comic relief. :')

Amusingly enough, I absentmindedly predicted what the cause of the Endless Eight was and that's made it even worse for me, because I was expecting something AMAZING AND COOL at the end. However, at this point I'm treating it like someone's trolling me anyway, so such an ending fits right in.

Man I am loving FMA so much right now.

Samurai Champloo hasn't grasped my interest very much yet. I'm 8 episodes in and still somewhat bored. I just saw the episode where the guy beatboxes on his katana though, and that was pretty awesome. We'll see where that takes me.

About to watch the latest FMA episode. I'll edit in my reaction.

fff best episode so far maybe? perfect amounts of action, comic relief, and giant differences from the first season. and i'm glad mustang finally isn't totally useless in the water, because that always bugged me. it's not like he can't use other alchemy!

MUSTANG'S ABS WHAT THE FUCK WHAT A BADASS

goddamn that was an emotionally charged episode.

and the ending too, what the hell. EVERYTHING happened in this episode.
Anyone got any opinions on the gate in Lab 3? Is it the same gate as the "truth"? Al didn't seem phased by it, but they definitely tried to bring our attention to it in the episode. Also, I've already forgotten - when did Al get to the gate anyway? In the first season, he couldn't do transmutation without a circle until the very end.
I have a question: where do you guys get all of the anime that you watch?
Like, what site?
Also: I've been watching the new FMA on AS and it's pretty damn cool.
I've seen all of Cowboy Bebop (really my favorite)
I've seen a fair share of Code Geass and R2
I've seen all of Death Note
not an impressive list at all, but then again I don't know of much anime tbh
There's nothing I can do but man,
I wish you weren't here with me

I usually download full series torrents, and I use Demonoid. If I'm following a recent anime(FMA or Haruhi for example), I still use torrents, except I just download the single episode.

I approve of your list!

Genius helped me familiarize myself with IRC transfers, so now I download almost all my anime straight from the sub group's IRC channel, and I get really nice speeds.

If I had more harddrive space, I'd probably torrent my anime, and I'd probably do it from Demonoid.

The site Rosti posted in the OP, lolipower, is fantastic for (non-licensed, I think?) anime. Multiple servers, great selection, really good speeds.

Besides that, you can find most anime pretty easily just by Googling it. You can find full series that have been put up on MU and then archived on sites without much trouble. It's sort of like downloading music of Google Blogs, you don't have that much choice, in terms of quality or sub group or whatever, but most of the time it's there and complete.

Speaking of speeds, the recent episodes have been downloading so fast lately. Why stream when you can download a whole episode in <3 minutes?!

RE: FMA #19:
I agree with Alex wholeheartedly, that was the best episode yet. Amazing all the way through.

Very sad to see Lust go. She's gotta be my favourite "bad guy". But, she's artificial(not according to her, lol), so maybe she can be made again!

Yesss, loved the actual use of alchemy coupled with the BADASS. Badass Hawkeye, badass Alphonse, badass Mustang, badass Lust, badass BLACK HAYATE
Black Hayate is damn awesome, and always has been. The truss which me and my lab partner made in our structural design project last year was named after him.

Really though, this new series is just hammering home how poor the original series was. It wins for pacing, humour, animation, plot, suspense, action...

For getting anime, in order:
- lolipower.org for unlicensed and new series
- demonoid or mininova for series which have been out for a while and aren't on lolipower
- direct torrents from the fansub group if they're not on lolipower or public torrents (eg THORAnime)
- IRC xdcc sends if the fansub group has no batch torrents
- cry

Also, at Uni I have the filesharing hub, which replaces torrent sites, but there's not a massive amount on there and the quality and fansubs are sometimes questionable. There's one guy who had loads and it was good quality and subs, but I think he's graduated now.

Lolipower.org is how all sites should work really, in this non-ideal world we inhabit. No ads or popups and decent download speeds, along with a pretty massive selection of stuff, usually with the best subbing group available for the series. Hard to rip the entire site for stuff with only two parallel downloads and one from each server, but that's a byproduct of the lack of ads and to be honest I don't really have much issue with it.
Also only unlicenced stuff, which is how it should be aside from the fact I'm a student and can't afford to buy all the licenced DVDs, but they also tend to have the most recent episode of popular licenced series such as FMA and Haruhi.

MC Purplepants (or something like that):
I don't think the stuff on the wall is the same as the gate. Or at least, it looks pretty different. I think there's some sort of importance in what's written on it though.

Al learned how to transmute without drawing a circle a couple of episodes back, when they went to see "they stole my organs and all I got was this lousy habit of coughing up blood" woman and he got his memories back of when his body got taken away, which is when he saw the gate.
Yeah, it did look different.. but it's probably still important. Hm.
Does anyone know if the whole 'other world' twist from the end of the first series is even part of the actual manga?
Finished the 76 episode first series of Hajime no Ippo in three weeks. Two of which I had a full-time job. I wasn't making an effort to watch it quickly, it's just that good.

Definitely one of the best series I've ever watched, and given the length of it as well, I don't think it'd be too far for me to suggest that it's the best.

I just watched the last two episodes of Haruhi, plus the most recent FMA.

A bit disappointed by the new arc of Haruhi. I was hoping for some proper new material, rather than elaboration on that horrible video. Still, I don't care all that much what they do with the rest of the season, as long as they make a better chronological ending. How many more episodes is it before the season ends, anyway?

Most recent episode of FMA was a bit boring, too. I'm not 100% sure what just happened - I can't tell if information is deliberately being left out to build intrigue, or if I'm just missing something obvious. :\ Also was it just me or was the animation really subpar?

but yeah hohenheim seems evil as hell now doesn't he

By most recent do you mean the one you missed while you were away or the one that came out like yesterday? (Or would have done for me except Eclipse seem to be a bit behind subbing it)

New Haruhi isn't really filling me with excitement for each episode. They're enjoyable, but don't seem to be up to the standards of the first series.

Started watching NANA, and it's looking very promising from the first episode. It's started well, and I find not many series tend to do that right from the off.

Plus lesbians.
