I only have the first two manga volumes. Funny stuff, took me a second to recognize them in anime.

Chiyo-chan is easily recognizeable though.

It's generic soft indie acoustic rock ballad shit song. Nothing original in it whatsoever, even the lyrics are pretty generic.
Maybe the song on its own isn't boring, but it is considering there's about 5 or 6 songs getting heavy airplay at the same time, which sound near enough identical.
