So Activision is apparently launching these games under the extraordinarily unfortunate mini-brand "Wee 1st" (Did a grandmother name this or something?) which is supposed to provide "games that use the Wii to their full potential". Bullshit. Come the hell on, Activision. We know you can do better than that. The real brand for this should be "brand for cheap cash-in shit games and TV/movie tie-ins". But, alas, that was probably too long to label.

I couldn't get onto wired, but Gamespot had a similar article.  Just look at the list of games!

-Little League World Series 2008
-Rapala Fishing Frenzy
-Dancing with the Stars: Get Your Dance On!

Can you say CREAM?    :X

And people wonder why I feel the Wii is an all but dead console. To top this all off, they've announced another Rabbids game.  Why not?  Especially seeing as the last one was so fantastic.

 :X    :X    :X

After the last Rabbids game, I really wish Ubisoft Paris would take a flying leap off the Eiffel Towel, and take those damn Rabbids with them.

*sigh* Poor Rayman.

I agree with you that the Wii has attracted far too much of the wrong type of attention, which is slowly killing it.

...For us, anyway. It's now a casual console, which was Nintendo's aim in the beginning, which just makes me angry..

But really, this isn't anything new.

I actually didn't mind Raving Rabbids 2 much. It wasn't as good as the original, but it was still entertaining.

Have you seen Dancing With the Stars stills? That's a fucking creepy game. The graphics are awful and not realistic at all. The people look like they're made of clay and it overall reminds me a bit of that episode of the Twilight Zone when a girl was being stalked and tortured in a mall by mannequins.

No, I haven't seen the stills.

And now after you said that, I really don't want to see them.  :-[

Incidentally, Activision is merging with Blizzard to form a conglomerate that could challenge EA. In more than one arena, it seems.

Apparently.  It looks like they're going after the casual market as well.

the casual market

Gah. Don't even call that "the casual market". I'm starting to get to a point where I'm finding myself leaning closer and closer to casual, but I would never even pay a dollar for shit like that. That's more properly named "shit shovelware market", also known as the market that appeals to clueless parents and grandparents that want to buy their child a game but have no idea what's good and what's not.

^This.  I pretty much consider myself casual, but I at least make sure the game I want has some quality.

Yeah, "Stupid relatives with no knowledge of the gaming market" buyers are what they cater too.

It's the non-gamer market.

Yes but that takes too long to say whenever it comes up.

It's the non-gamer market.

Ah, much better.

Okay. Just as long as you acknowledge that there's a divide between that and, say, Mario Kart Wii. :x

Hell no :x MKWii sucks.

First of all, you claim that MKWii sucks just because you were whining and bitching about the fact that it didn't give you a shiny gold star when you got hit by a blue shell or whatever.

Second of all, even with the strongest aversion and the most negative personal opinion, you HAVE to recognize that there's a gigantic gap between the quality of Mario Kart Wii and Dancing With the Stars Wii. :x

I was completely joking but you took me seriously and made me laugh with the second paragraph.  LMAO.

You're aware that Dancing With the Stars Wii is an actual game in development... right?

I hope I didn't just turn that laugh into a lifelong scar. :x

Absolutely.  There is a difference between a good casual game and a "non-gamer" casual game.

I'll argue with you a little on Rabbids 2, but not MK Wii.  MK Wii was solid.

I'll acknowledge that Rabbids 2 is a bit of a guilty pleasure for me. Really, I only like it because I can play it with my sister and her roommate, or I can play it with my friends here, and it makes for an entertaining experience.

And because the Rabbids 2 trailers/advertisements made me drool for obvious reasons.
