I didn't use shoutbox, though I see it as a useful tool. Why isn't it on the side of Aurality? It could go on the right/left/etc.

The Shoutbox was part of Tinyportal, which is broken/incompatible/etc with this version of SMF.

Actually, I'm not sure where to put this (I was thinking Serious Discussion) but I think we REALLY need an Off-Topic topic. I think it should go in Serious Discussion. This ALMOST covers it, but I think there should be a place where the abnormal is EXPECTED. Full of flames. Complete anarchy. Because people flood that before they get to the rest of the forum, and such tangents will last longer. It works for SA and a couple of the other forums I've been to, and I think it'd work even better here, because I see great comedy coming from that and not just garbage. But when an idiot can rant all they way, and the intelligent can get as mad as they want, and not have anything said in regards to rules, that vindication makes them more humble.

Okay, fair enough. But is there NO limit to what I can put there?

I used that button every day as well. As Cesium pointed out, you can just bookmark (http://www.aurality.org/community/index.php?action=unread;) and you get the same effect.

Also, I never could figure out the IRC thing besides needing a client, which I really don't want.

I would question why you don't want a client, but that's a different issue.

If you've got a fully-updated version of Java (which, to be honest, I find worse than downloading a client) then it should just work.
"/nick new_nickname" typed into the chat changes the name, other than that you just use it like MSN or something.

So, in Japanese class today, we learned the exact equivilant of x/y/etc. It's even limited to two terms. It made me so happy/amused/etc.

I learned how to use Gel Electrophoresis in Biology today.  I can do those things that people in CSI shows do for teh DNA <_<;.

Though they do it so fast, which is absolutely impossible...

Okay.

Until people (coughcesiumcough) get another invitation to bitch about how TinyPortal and all the other mods are gone, Unread Posts does not come from TinyPortal. IT's just a hyperlink. I can replace it once I can finally find where the hell the buttons come from.
