I cannot be the only person on this site who likes pokemon.  A brief history if you guys are clueless... somehow... I don't want to have to explain this in the topic.  Just read the bold if you are already familiar with this game.

The Pokemon Mystery Dungeon series is a part of a Japanese video game series in which all dungeons are randomly generated every time you visit.  They span many worlds and are more unrelated to each other than every Final Fantasy game.  The games are always done in 2-D (I suppose it'd be called 2-D), a top-down camera view.  All action takes place in a turn-based, grid-like environment.  You can move in one of 8 directions (as long as there isn't an obstacle in your way), and every time you move, everything else happens turn by turn (or everyone moves at the same time).

The DS/GBA Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games (Blue/Red Rescue Team, repsectively) were a big hit in the US, and I'm pretty sure they were the first of the Mystery Dungeon series to come to the US.  But hey, I don't keep track of that.  The thing that made it popular is that you were actually a pokemon, not controlling them.  The world is also one where humans don't (did, probably) exist.

So yeah.  Seems a lot like an article of summary, but a lot of people DON'T know about this stuff.  Which astounds me.

Is anyone else looking forward the the next two as much as I am?  They are both scheduled to come out this month.

Yes, I am a poketard.

I played one of them, really didn't like it much at all. I'd rather play ADOM.

..I played one of the first Pokemon Mystery Dungeons, and didn't enjoy it very much. I'd rather be playing the game ADOM.

Ancient Domains of Mystery, apparently.

I played PMD Red/Blue, and I didn't feel like getting all the Pokemon after finishing the actual plot. It's not like the main games where you can get a good fraction of them just by going through the story.

I had fun going through dungeons and getting the legends XD.

Cesium, if I had to guess one member (that's not Dave) on the forum who'd have played ADOM, I'd have guessed you.

If we're talking about the same thing, I tried NetHack once, but I didn't get very far into it...

Yeah, that's another problem I have with it... I'm not so devoted as to go through a 99-level dungeon with practically nothing. Also that you can't save freely, and that you can't really train as easily and thus have to bring lots of items to prevent loss of HP/PP. So I didn't like it very much, but it's a good concept.

I've only played the traditional Pokemon games.  And I usually got bored by the time I reach that point between the last gym leader and th Elite Four because I can't fucking stand training on and on and on to be able to just manage to get to the Elite Four, just so I can go and train some more to be able to stand a chance against fighting them.

I almost never have to train for the E4.

:X Ah well, I'll be the only one here in Brawl's/Pokemon's Metagame...

Same here. I can usually just go through Victory Road and beat them within a few tries with a party of 3 or 4.

I never play any of the pokemon spin-offs anymore. Especially not after Colosseum.

I was never able to do that. I always had to train. I went into the E4 way underleveled every single game because I was only in the vicinity of the levels of the last Gym Leader's Pokemon. Less than 6 Pokemon was never an option for me. Also, I stocked up like crazy on items before I went to face the E4 because I was quite frequently caught in a situation where I had one high HP Pokemon left who I shoved out there to take damage so I could use as many items as I could to revive as many Pokemon as I could before the one I had out died.
I usually faced the E4 with level 50-55 Pokemon.

I dunno why no one else did, but I actually enjoyed Colosseum.

Colosseum irritates me.  I would love to see a completely normal 3D pokemon game.  It would probably own <3.  Trading/battling could easily happen online...

Mm, I always went everywhere (except all the sea routes in RSE) so I trained on the trainers. I had some trouble with the last gym too, but usually not much. I used HM slaves as cannon fodder on the E4 as well.

I didn't hate Colosseum. I actually enjoyed somewhat the break from the old formula, and fewer Pokemon to collect, except for not being able to save and such.

I went to all of the sea routes in RSE. That's how I trained in those games. I remember swimming all the way to that one secluded village that had... something at it. It had something unusual. I don't remember what, though.

Fighting swimmers was a fantastic way to train electric-types.

I dislike dungeon crawlers, but liked the original PMD.

I usally am not for Pokemon, but Diamond was actually pretty good
