WiiMan
« on: April 20, 2008, 07:25:23 PM »
Apparently, it's a Wiimote costume with working buttons. Not sure if it can actually point and motion-sense, but someone had too much time on their hands.

Related to Guitar Heronoid.

It's this level of boredom that brought us such concepts as TMNT, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, and Space Ghost: Coast to Coast.

I love how the Guitar Hero thing is a fairly big involved project, while the Wii thing is basically a Wii controller stuck to a shirt.  It sums Nintendo up well, somehow.

Nintendo has always put out minor modifications to preexisting technology and called it genius innovation. :x

WiiMan looks pathetic, particularly the costume. It looks like some crappy Halloween costume or cosplay.

It obviously pales in comparison with the Guitar Heronoid.

You can't deny that a lot of genuine innovation has happened on Nintendo console, though, even if not always by Nintendo themselves.

It has indeed, but they tend to overstate exactly how much.

Either that, or they just say that everything is innovation when only about half of it truly is.

True, they have a tendancy to miss a few things while they're trying to get you to focus on something else.

I've been trying very hard to avoid the obvious pun here, but would any person really want to be known all over the internet as Wii Man?  I only bring it up because it just adds to this guy's apparent lack of street smarts.

I've seen worse.

Like when two different teachers in my school abbreviate "Cumulative Frequency" to "Cum. Freq.".

There is absolutely no way I would have been able to keep a straight face if someone wrote that on a school board.

I can one-up Cum. Freq., though. Our English teacher shortened Process/Analysis to Pro Anal. :X

I burst out laughing at that.

When my orchestra conductor/teacher is trying to explain the core of a pitch, she makes an o with her index finger and thumb with one hand, and puts her other hand's finger through the hole, over and over.  She does this about once a month when she gets PO'd...
