It's one reason I really like platformers and Metroid: Fusion so much.  They tend to be very linear games, just go from point a to b.

I don't like complete linearity. I just like objectives. If the game isn't linear I like at least having goals to compete (eg SM64). Most modern linear games I find immensely boring because they're far too easy, so there's just no challenge or interest really to the game.

Also, has anyone played VVVVVV? I tried out the demo the other day and quite liked it, and I'm wondering if it's worth getting the full thing.

VVVVVV's one of my favourite games to come out over the past few years, and I beat it pretty regularly.
I paid $15 for it and got a lot out of it, but I'd be hesitant to recommend that price point to most people. I'm sure it's dropped by now, though? If it has, 100% for sure get it.

I'm pretty sure there was a like, $2 dollar sale a while ago.

Right now it's at 5 USD. This thread just inspired me to play through it again, and I did, and it was awesome. Easily worth 5 bucks.

VVVVVV? I think the first time I played it it took me 2 or 3 hours? When I played through again recently, it took just over an hour. There's a decent amount of bonus content like speed runs and stuff, if you're into them.

How long it takes really depends on how good you are at platformers. This one section took me probably about half an hour or more the first time, but now it takes me 15 minutes on a bad day.
