Personally I think it's a bit weird to add Questioning, assuming it means like "Questioning their sexuality" or something along those lines. I can see where they're coming from, but I sort of already got the gist of what the LGBT thing was all about.

But there is a justification for it. People who are just questioning their sexuality and aren't sure where they lie might feel a little alienated by the LGBT structure, since, for them, it's not that definite. The addition of the Q isn't to add to the public understanding; it's to increase the outreach of help organizations (like The Trevor Project) beyond the definite LGBT structure.

Some places tack on an "A" for allies I know.
And then there's the "S" which is for straight people who are cool with those under the rest of the letters. Same thing... but it's an excuse to make it longer .
