So, I like cats. But... (lazy copy/pasting...)

Me: "So, Mom, my friend has this problem... So the cat's name is Reo (oreo). He is black and white and he is very well (potty) trained. My friends apartment doesn't allow any pets so he either needs a home or go to animal shelter and they will have to put him to sleep after two weeks.. The owner will pay for everything such as food, clother, leash,.. etc.. Reo needs a place to stay only for four months and his owner will take him back.. Please please help this poor cat!!!!" <--- PUH-LEEEEZ MOM? D:

Mom: Only if he will sign a contract stating that food, ect will be paid for and he will be taken back in 4 months. State the date of pickup. There, how is that for covering my backside but giving you what you want. You will be completely responsible for this.

Brother: Don't forget Penny is not the best mannered cat around other cats, if they end up killing each other that would be a problem as well...not to mention the other cat... (I figure if Reo's going to die anyway, what's the harm done?)

Mom: Well, Kylie will have to deal with that. Kylie, think long and hard about this.

I think I'm going to take the cat. :x I really do. I'm just scared because Penelope isn't a nice cat at all and AAAA.

I want a kitty. ;-; I don't want this kitty to die, I may be its only hope!

It's a cat. Let it live wild for a few months, it'll be fine as a collared stray. If it dies, it should have been a better cat.

Unless it's like 12 weeks old or something, it should be able to fend for itself. Cats are hardly the most needy of pets.

Just make sure you don't get too attached to it because I think we all know you will and you'll be upset when you have to give it back :x

It's less cost for them, it's less hassle for you, it's less likely to get clawed to death by another cat... what's not for them to like?

You should take in that kitten, snoggums. It would truly be a kind, amazing and selfless thing to do. I believe such an experience would make you a better person.

If it was that precious to them, they wouldn't be offloading it onto someone else.

If pets are banned in your apartment, then you can still keep cats. You just have to constantly be wary of the landlord seeing them, and accept that hilarious hijinks will ensue. I saw it on Chi's Sweet Home

(by the way Alex, maybe Sean too, you should watch it if you haven't already if only for the fact you might not even need subs for it)

I don't know anything about taking care of pets, and it's something I never plan on having to do myself, but if you want a cat, this is a good opportunity to get one. My sister has a cat and he's pretty adorable.

Argh, this "contract" thing your mother is talking about reminds me of mine. :x
